Ruman Shipcontractors Ltd is a registered Kenyan company with offices located both at Ruman Plaza along St. Benedict Street and on the first floor of old C.D.O. building within the port of Mombasa . The port office offers an advantage of proximity to the working station compared to other service providers. The company commenced operation as sole proprietor business, in 1989 and was incorporated as limited company in 2006. The managing Director is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and a trained Lloyds Marine Surveyor. A team of shipping professionals trained in different fields manage the day to day operations of the company.

Staff are trained per IMO requirements both on fire fighting , ISPSR security and safety certificates.  This include in-service courses at Bandari Academy (former Bandary College).

A standard procedure on safety is in place where we have daily briefing on safety measures before commencement of operations to eliminate risks and delays in implementing tasks. The firm has a documented safety and security plan for its staff and operations.
